Booze and rock 'n roll

I used to think that kissing girls was the best thing in the world
Down behind the bike shed what they did got me exited
I know I gave the devil my soul
But now I'm getting older I'm getting off on booze and rock 'n roll
Yeah now I'm getting older I'm getting off on booze and rock 'n roll

Smoking grass taking cocaine busting ass hurting my brain
Money I gotta make some Honey I gotta chase some
I know I gave the devil my soul
But now I'm getting older I'm getting off on booze and rock 'n roll
Yeah now I'm getting older I'm getting off on booze and rock 'n roll

Speed was on my mind going faster all the time
Spinning wheels dragging fine I got to get it up to the red line
I know I gave the devil my soul
But now I'm getting older I'm getting off on booze and rock 'n roll
Yeah now I'm getting older I'm getting off on booze and rock 'n roll

Bad Boys

Met him down by the railroad track got a feeling we ain't coming back
Robbed a bank and we got away but I can hear sirens on the way

Bad boys or are we just fools
Didn't learn nothing at school
We didn't care what tomorrow would bring
Bad boys doing crazy things

Holed up with a gun and some ammunition guess we're ready for a situation
Butch and Sundance thats us don't push us too hard or make a fuss

Bad boys or are we just fools
Didn't learn nothing at school
We didn't care what tomorrow would bring
Bad boys doing crazy things

Now we're like cornered like rats in a trap negotiations running out fast
Only one way it's gonna end a blaze of glory and the law wins again

Bad boys or are we just fools
Didn't learn nothing at school
We didn't care what tomorrow would bring
Bad boys doing crazy things
Bad boys doing crazy things

Honey I'm coming home

You know I'm turning this rig around heading on back to you
Watching the blacktop rolling under my wheels
Got the radio on a country song as this eighteen wheeler rolls along
And the closer I get to you the better I feel

You know I gotta make a living somehow
And driving this truck is what I do right now
The miles are rolling by I've been too long alone
But the good news is honey I'm coming home

Life on the road can be a heavy load
It ain't all fun and games that's a fact
The boss gives you these deadlines but he keeps you on the breadline
And there were times I nearly got myself the sack

You know I gotta make a living somehow
And driving this truck is what I do right now
The miles are rolling by I've been too long alone
But the good news is honey I'm coming home

There's traffic lights and traffic jams and crazy fools in cars
Who'd be in jail if there was any justice
There's roadworks everywhere I'm tearing out my hair
I wanna tell my boss to take this job and shove it

You know I gotta make a living somehow
And driving this truck is what I do right now
The miles are rolling by I've been too long alone
But the good news is honey I'm coming home
The miles are rolling by I've been too long alone
But the good news is honey I'm coming home

Double Whisky Blues

Woke up this morning found my glad rags on the floor
Woke up this morning they were scattered on the floor
Guess I'll leave them I won't need them any more

The party was loud and the drink was flowing free
The party was loud and the drink was flowing free
And I could feel that the booze was making a fool out of me

Now I got them double whisky blues
My legs don't work I'm tripping over my shoes
My head hurts got them whisky blues

Late in the evening heard my sweet baby say
You've had enough take me home right away
Then "one more for the road" I heard my buddy say

Now I got them double whisky blues
My legs don't work I'm tripping over my shoes
My head hurts got them whisky blues

Just like a bad dream I can still hear her say
It's me or the booze you got to choose right away
And if it ain't me I am leaving today

What a big mistake I think I made
The bottle's empty and in the cold light of day
My baby's gone and the blues are here to stay

Now I got them double whisky blues
My legs don't work I'm tripping over my shoes
My head hurts got them whisky blues
My head hurts got them whisky blues

Country Queen

They had a talent contest in our town a while ago
And people came from miles around to see our local show
There was rock 'n roll and jazz and blues but everyone agreed
The super star of the super show was Little Miss Country Queen

Little Miss Country Queen I never seen no-one as good as you
You're singing's just as beautiful as early morning dew
You're gonna be a star someday that's easy to be seen
Sing it one more time for me Little Miss Country Queen

Little Miss Country Queen I never seen no-one as good as you
You're singing's just as beautiful as early morning dew
You're gonna be a star someday that's easy to be seen
Sing it one more time for me Little Miss Country Queen

Now she's a star and travels far and everywhere she goes
She packs them in the way she did at the local talent show
I'm glad she signed my contract when she won that big event
Cos now I am her manager and I'm on ten per cent

Little Miss Country Queen I never seen no-one as good as you
You're singing's just as beautiful as early morning dew
You're gonna be a star someday that's easy to be seen
Sing it one more time for me Little Miss Country Queen
Sing it one more time for me Little Miss Country Queen

Boots (the shoe shop song)

There's a guy in our town he's got a little store and the window's full of his gear
And it's all just the kind of essential stuff you need every day of the year
In the middle of the week I'm going on down to see if he'll accomodate me
When I pop into his shop this is what he'll hear from me

You can keep those boots that Wellington wore the ones with the rubberised feel
I gotta have that hand carved leather gotta have a cuban heel
I wanna tuck my jeans in the top of my boot so don't cut them tight to my leg
And as for the price you gotta keep it nice so I don't have to borrow or beg
You can keep those boots that Wellington wore the ones with the rubberised feel
I gotta have some real deal leather gotta have a little high heel

As you can see I'm not a mini me so I gotta have the wider fit
I'll need to try them on and walk them up and down to stretch them just a little tiny bit
When all's said and done I'll need a guarantee that I can walk a thousand miles
And if we can seal a handshake deal it'll leave me with a great big smile

You can keep those boots that Wellington wore the ones with the rubberised feel
I gotta have that hand carved leather gotta have a cuban heel
I wanna tuck my jeans in the top of my boot so don't cut them tight to my leg
And as for the price you gotta keep it nice so I don't have to borrow or beg
You can keep those boots that Wellington wore the ones with the rubberised feel
I gotta have some real deal leather gotta have a little high heel

Mistaken Identity

They had an ID parade in our town
They dragged me in to populate the crowd
Now it seems like I have got a double
Lord looks like I'm in trouble

Now I'm standing in a line desperately trying to tell them about my alibi
My perspiration's glistening cos they're not listening
They're saying everythings a lie
Caught like a fool I'm trying to be cool saying to the cops it wasn't me
Looks like I'm stuffed standing here in cuffs looking at a spell in custody

The local bank had a robbery
The teller said he looked like me
They said I took the cash but I think they're being rash
I wasn't even in this vicinity

Now I'm standing in a line desperately trying to tell them about my alibi
My perspiration's glistening cos they're not listening
They're saying everythings a lie
Caught like a fool I'm trying to be cool saying to the cops it wasn't me
Looks like I'm stuffed standing here in cuffs looking at a spell in custody

I'm standing in a line desperately trying to tell them about my alibi
My perspiration's glistening cos they're not listening
They're saying everythings a lie
Caught like a fool I'm trying to be cool saying to the cops it wasn't me

Gator Fishin'

It seemed like a good idea at the time me and this hell raising buddy of mine
Thought we'd go gator fishing in the Louisiana swamp
He had some old shark fishing gear so armed with that and some cans of beer
We started the outboard on my little boat

We found a spot that wasn't too wide and he threw this big hook over the side
And we sat there and waited to see if he'd take the bait
We'd only been there a short time when something big got attached to that line
With a snapping noise that sounded like a slamming gate

He said I got me a gator I got me a bite then I saw his line go tight
And the next thing he was gone like a puff of smoke
As I stood there looking at his shoe I had this sense of deja vu
When I heard me saying we're gonna need a bigger boat

After a while that gator came by and he stuck his head up and he winked his eye
And I could see he was looking at me like I was dessert
So with the throttle wide and the engine screaming I showed that gator that I was leaving
I got the hell out of there before somebody else got hurt

He said I got me a gator I got me a bite then I saw his line go tight
And the next thing I knew he was gone
That gator had him and he was away and I'll remember his words to my dying day
He said man what can possibly go wrong

I got me a gator I got me a bite then I saw his line go tight
And the next thing I knew he was gone
And do you know what if I'm really honest
I wouldn't be putting my money on it
I don't think gator fishing is gonna catch on
Somehow I don't think gator fishing is gonna catch on
