The Dog and the Cadillac

Put George and Tammy on the jukebox Pour me another shot of Jack
My woman's run off with a guy I used to call my buddy She tells me she's never coming back
Her attorney wants the house and all the money Looks like I'll be moving to a shack
But looking at the dark side on the bright side She's leaving me the dog and the cadillac

I thought life was great and we were happy Till one day I came home and she was gone
The note that she left said goodbye turkey I been putting up with you for way too long
That's how come I'm sitting in this bar room Amazed and dismayed that I'm alone
I'd really like to ask her what it was that I done wrong But she don't even answer when I phone

I haven't just lost a pretty woman I've lost me a drinking buddy too
I've found that my hound is the only one who needs me Guess there's only one thing left to do

Put George and Tammy on the jukebox Pour me another shot of Jack

Crazy Lady

Crazy lady stop your looking at me Hold on Momma I tell you this man ain't free
I got a wife at home don't need no misery

I just called in for a drink and that's all that's on my mind I'm just on my own and I'm not trying to find
Any company of the female kind

Crazy lady stop your looking at me Hold on Momma I tell you this man ain't free
I got a wife at home don't need no misery

Don't look at me the way you're viewing me now We're not leaving together no way no how
I'm a married man and I ain't breaking no vow

I saw you at the bar I thought you looked kind of nice But when I said hello I was just being polite
I didn't realise you'd think it's love at first sight

Crazy lady stop your looking at me Hold on Momma I tell you this man ain't free
I got a wife at home don't need no misery
I got a wife at home don't need no misery

Don't Tell Me That You Love Me

Please don't tell me that you love me I saw the way you looked at him last night
Please don't tell me that you need me But make believe with me again tonight

I didn't think you were the kind to cheat and run around Never thought you'd treat me like a clown
Lately I've been seeing you in a brand new light of day But I just can't bring myself to walk away

Please don't tell me that you love me I saw the way you looked at him last night
Please don't tell me that you need me But make believe with me again tonight

If I could break the bond of love that keeps me chained to you You know that I'd be down that road today
But just one look into those pretty eyes of blue And you know that I'd come running back to stay

Please don't tell me that you love me I saw the way you looked at him last night
Please don't tell me that you need me But make believe with me again tonight
Just make believe with me again tonight

Candy

Candy was the kind of girl you'd search for all your life But when I found her she was all alone
She was awful pretty and her hair shone like the gold They mined from the Klondike years ago

I was going to Dallas and so she tagged along It felt good to have her by my side
And I never did feel cold with Candy there to hold And I don't recall a time she ever cried

Candy can you hear the south wind singing in your mind You've still another hundred miles to go
Can she catch a ride to Tallahassee if she tried Candy could but she don't want to know

We hitched from town to town and Candy kinda found A way to keep my troubles off my mind
And I never did feel better than when I laid Candy down And felt her kisses pressing down on mine

But when I stopped in Kansas Candy carried on And where she is today I would't know
But the times I shared with Candy were the best years of my life Her body was the sweetest thing I've known

Candy can you hear the south wind singing in your mind You've still another hundred miles to go
Can she catch a ride to Tallahassee if she tried Candy could but she don't want to know
Candy could but she don't want to know

Home Cooking

Take me back to that old home cooking Back to the front porch swing
Take me back to a time when we all sat around And listened to Momma sing
I can see Grandpa Joe with his old banjo Picking out our favourite songs
Take me back take me back to that old home cooking Back to where I belong

Over there I can see that old oak tree I always used to climb
And there's brother Jake standing by the lake We used to swim in all the time
And the sun in the sky used to burn your eye If you looked at him full on
If I could go back to that little old shack I'd stay and never roam

Take me back to that old home cooking Back to the front porch swing
Take me back to a time when we all sat around And listened to Momma sing
I can see Grandpa Joe with his old banjo Picking out our favourite songs
Take me back take me back to that old home cooking Back to where I belong

There ain't no doubting the view of the mountain Was easy on the eye
There's Momma in the kitchen you know I'm wishing I could taste that apple pie
Then it'd start getting late and we just couldn't wait To get out that old moonshine
I'm not denying that old White Lightning would Get you every time

Take me back to that old home cooking Back to the front porch swing
Take me back to a time when we all sat around And listened to Momma sing
I can see Grandpa Joe with his old banjo Picking out our favourite songs
Take me back take me back to that old home cooking Back to where I belong
Take me back take me back to that old home cooking Back to where I belong

Rock And Roll Sweetheart

If God didn't like rock and roll he wouldn't have given us guitars And he sure wouldn't have let Elvis be the king
He wouldn't have let me find you to rock and roll our whole life through And I don't reckon he'd have given us a voice to sing

You're my rock and roll sweetheart my pretty little livin doll My life hasn't been the same since you came along
Break out those little bobby socks and put your hand in mine And you and me can jive to the end of the line

I thank the stars that we were born on the only planet with rock and roll And I'm real glad I got to dance with you
If you look on life like a marathon dance I truly believe that we can last And I'll share that winners trophy there with you

You're my rock and roll sweetheart my pretty little livin doll My life hasn't been the same since you came along
Break out those little bobby socks and put your hand in mine And you and me can jive to the end of the line

You're my rock and roll sweetheart my pretty little livin doll My life hasn't been the same since you came along
Break out those little bobby socks and put your hand in mine And you and me can jive to the end of the line

Break out those little bobby socks and put your hand in mine And you and me can jive to the end of the line
You and me can jive to the end of the line

Wrong Train Blues

She said meet me at the station you'd better not be late I've booked us on a fast one it leaves at half past eight
I told the taxi driver get me there on time I thought I was going south bound on platform number nine
The doors were just about to close I threw myself on board And as that train pulled out I see we're heading north
I'm on the wrong train I'm going the wrong way That's typical me

I got the wrong train blues I kinda got it wrong My baby's heard the news she knew it all along
She says I can't be trusted I haven't got a clue That's why I've got these wrong train blues

I got to the conductor said you gotta let me off He said no can do this train doesn't stop
I saw this cord above the door it said emergency I grabbed a hold and gave a pull before he could stop me
Next thing that I knew the driver hit the brake I went flying through the air and then made my escape
I'm on the wrong train I'm going the wrong way That's typical me

I got the wrong train blues I kinda got it wrong My baby's heard the news she knew it all along
She says I can't be trusted I haven't got a clue That's why I've got these wrong train blues

My baby's on the iphone wondering where I'm gone I sent a message back honey I won't be long
I just received a text from her she's realised what I've done And so that she can save me she's got off the train she's on
She's on one going the other way I think I'm gonna cry We'll be waving through the window as we pass each other by
I'm on the wrong train I'm going the wrong way That's typical me

I got the wrong train blues I kinda got it wrong My baby's heard the news she knew it all along
She says I can't be trusted I haven't got a clue That's why I've got these wrong train blues
That's why I've got these wrong train blues

On The Bus Again

This machine looked really hot sitting there on that lot and I'm guessing it was fast cos it was red
I thought I gotta have that car I'll look like a movie star couldn't get that automobile out of my head

I was checking out this set of wheels thinking this'd boost my sex appeal when a guy came out and offered me his hand
He said I'm gonna cut you a deal in fact it'll be a steal I said sir I think you need to understand

It's too much by far I could only afford about half this car he said friend I know just what you mean
Tell  you what I'm gonna do I'm gonna cut that price in two I'll sell it to you for half what's on the screen

I couldn't believe my ears it was the bargain of the year I couldn't believe this gentleman was so kind
I went straight down to the bank drew out all the money I had and hurried back before he changed his mind

I handed over all my money then he acted kinda funny he said I'll go inside and I'll get you the key
When he didn't come back out I opened the door and gave a shout I said anyone see that guy that was talking to me

They said never seen him before he went straight out the back door and right about now I knew that I'd been had
A fool and his cash can be parted in a flash and now this fool is feeling pretty mad

I'm on the bus again I've been done again I should have fool tattooed on my forehead
I should be in that car looking like a star instead of that I'm on the bus again

I'm on the bus again it's driving me round the bend I thought I was done with riding to work this way
I'm not in the car I thought I bought I'm here on public transport wondering what was going through my brain

I'm on the bus again but I got me a new friend the driver and me are real good buddies now
When it comes to being dumb I can out dumb anyone Mr Stupid should stand up and take a bow

I'm on the bus again I've been done again some joker's got my money and it's gone again
A guy I shouldn't have trusted has gone and left me busted and friends thats why I'm on the bus again

Yeah friends that's why I'm on the bus again
